[Drama News] Male Lead Peter Sheng Talks About His Character in Picked Flowers 十里洋场拾年花

Peter Sheng Yi Lun (Pretty Li Hui Zhen) is confirmed as the male lead of upcoming mega republican era drama Picked Flowers (十里洋场拾年花) and it is expected to air sometime in 2019. The cast includes Ma Su, Chen Zi Han, Bobo Gan, Monica Mu, Pan Chen, Xu Rong Zhen, Qin Hai Lu, Aaron Wang Ming Duo, Li Zong Han, Zhang Tong, Liu Guan Xiang, Lawrence Shi Fan Xi, Zhao Bin, and Ding Qiao.

They are currently filming and from reports, it seems the story will be set in Shanghai during the time period of foreign concessions within the city from 1910 to the 1920’s, focusing on a group of passionate youths who come together to start a revolution…

[Drama News] Chen Kun and Wan Qian are spies in The One Who Escapes 脱身者

脱身者 (English title: The One Who Escapes) is an upcoming espionage television series starring award-winning actors Chen Kun and Wan Qian as a pair of spies in late 1940s Shanghai.

This project has been getting a lot of buzz since it was announced last fall. Chen Kun, one of China’s most bankable and talented actors, has not done a TV series since Remembrance of Dreams Past back in 2009. His return to the small screen is highly anticipated. Plus it took screenwriter Wang Qi Nan nine years to develop the story–in case you need another reason to put this series on your radar.

The One Who Escapes is currently in production and slated to air later this year. Check out some recent stills from the series:

[Drama News] Glory of the Tang Dynasty 大唐荣耀 Season 2 Begins Airing

Splitting dramas up into several seasons seems to be the trend lately. Starring Jing Tian and Ren Jia Lun, Glory of the Tang Dynasty (大唐荣耀 ) completed it’s first run on March 19th with 60 episodes. The first episode of season two just aired today and along with it some gorgeous character posters were released!

[Drama News] Tang Song Yun & Jiang Chao as the Cute Bickering OTP in The Fox’s Summer 狐狸的夏天

I was going to skip posting about this drama cause it sounded like every other typical rich-guy-ceo-and-poor-girl-employee idol drama out there. But, I watched the trailer just now and it was kind of funny lol, so now we’re here! The Fox’s Summer (狐狸的夏天) was originally named Fox Fall In Love in English, but from the newest poster it seems they changed it to match with the Chinese title. The drama stars Seven Tan Song Yun, Jiang Chao, Pu Tao, Zhang Xin, and Wang Yan Zhi. It has 45 episodes and premieres on April 5th!

[Drama News] Crossing the Ocean to See You 漂洋过海来看你 Releases Last Batch of Character Posters

I’m guessing this is the last of the promo material since the drama premiered last night, but who knows lol, Crossing the Ocean to See You (漂洋过海来看你) starring Zhu Ya Wen and Wang Li Kun had been very generous with their posters and stills. Something new has been released practically everyday for the past two weeks. Also, the drama is licensed on viki and will be subbed soon! I haven’t had time to check out the first episode yet, but to those of you who did, how was it?

[Drama News] Web Drama All About Secrets 秘果 Premieres April 10th

Another youth campus drama is coming our way on April 10th! All About Secrets (秘果) will be aired on iQiyi with 24 episodes. It stars Chen Zhe Yuan , Li Lan Di, Yu Zhi Hui, and Liu Jian Yu. Similar to other school themed dramas, All About Secrets will focus on student life, first loves, friendship, teachers, and ultimately self discovery as these kids approach graduation.

[Drama News] Hero’s Dream 天意之秦天宝鉴 Stars Oho Ou, Karina Hai & Qiao Zhen Yu

Hero’s Dream (天意之秦天宝鉴) is the drama adaption of science fiction writer Qian Lifang’s novel Heaven’s Will (天意). The story is a reimagination of the history of the late Qin dynasty and the beginnings of the Han with sci-fi/fantasy elements mixed in. This is a Youku production and it is planned to have 36 episodes. The drama held its booting ceremony yesterday and just started filming with the cast of Oho Ou, Karina Hai Ling, Qiao Zhen Yu, and Andy Zhang. Tang Yan will also be guest starring.

[Drama News] The Flame’s Daughter 烈火如歌 Begins Filming

The Flame’s Daughter (烈火如歌) held it’s booting ceremony today with the cast and crew in attendance. Main leads Dilraba Dilmurat and Vic Zhou were in costume looking happy and relaxed. [Drama News] The Hypnotist 被催眠的催眠师 Releases Music Video & More Stills

Of all the new dramas airing in April, this is definitely the one I’m most interested in! The Hypnotist (被催眠的催眠师) stars Yang Le and Zhu Yan Man Zi as the main leads. Together, they will work to solve a number of mysterious cases with the help of hypnosis. The drama will be airing on Sohu TV on April 13th. Koala Liu Si Han sings the theme song ‘Dream’, and an exciting music video just dropped, giving us a sneak peek to some of the scenes from the drama! Check it out!
