Modern cooking themed drama Kiss Love and Taste (亲·爱的味道) just released a new set of colorful character posters featuring the cast of Lu Yi, Amber Kuo, Aaron Yan, Ai Xiao Qi, and Li Sha Min Zi! The 30 episode drama was shot in Shanghai and is a lighthearted romantic comedy focusing on the various challenges Wen Yuyu (Lu Yi) and Jin Jinjin (amber Kuo) face as they cook to show the world the specialty of Chinese cuisine.

[Drama News] Dilraba Dilmurat, Vic Zhou, Vin Zhang, & Liu Rui Lin in The Flame’s Daughter 烈火如歌

Dilraba Dilmurat and Vin Zhang Bin Bin just wrapped up filming The King’s Women two weeks ago. But, they will be collaborating for the 5th time in upcoming novel-to-drama adaption The Flame’s Daughter (烈火如歌) by Ming Xiao Xi. Along with Dilraba Dilmurat and Zhang Bin Bin, the two other confirmed leading actors are Vic Zhou and Liu Rui Lin. The story follows Ru Ge (Dilraba Dilmurat) and her complicated relationship with the three men she’s destined to cross paths with in a heart wrenching tale of love and inevitable hate… Look under the cut for more detailed character introductions! [Drama News] Rush to the Dead Summer 夏至未至 Releases Poster & More Stills

The drama starring Cheney Chen, Zheng Shuang, and Bai Jing Ting released more stills of the cast in school uniforms! As mentioned previously, Rush to the Dead Summer (夏至未至) is adapted from Guo Jing Ming’s novel of the same name. The story spans over a period of ten years, following a close group of high school friends who drift apart after graduation and go their separate ways as they transition into adulthood.

[Drama News] Blind Date 盲约 Coming in December

Lu Yi and Jiang Xin’s modern drama Blind Date (盲约) is expected to air at the end of the year in December with 54 episodes. It is reported that female lead Jiang Xin gained ten pounds for this role. Blind Date is about Xia Tian’s (Jiang Xin) quest on finding a boyfriend before her half-sister’s wedding. She has 278 days to find Mr. Right, and to prove her mother wrong (who thinks Xia Tian will depressingly show up at the wedding in all black, still be overweight, and utterly lonely without a date). Through this nine month journey, Xia Tian matures and becomes courageous. She is no longer the low self-esteem girl she used to be and finally discovers that true love has been right next to her all along…

[Drama News] Class Monitor Your Highness 班长“殿下” Starts Filming

New upcoming college campus drama Class Monitor Your Highness (班长“殿下”) held it’s booting ceremony today. The drama stars Niu Jun Feng 牛駿峰 (Yu Gong from Love O2O) and Xing Fei 邢菲 (Master Devil Don’t Kiss me) as the main leads. Class Monitor Your Highness is based off of the book 蜜爱百分百：校草的专属甜心. The story follows young rebellious second generation rich boy Gu Zi Chen (Niu Jun Feng) as he meets his match in the stubborn and ambitious class monitor Su Nian Nian (Xing Fei). They go from bickering enemies to lovers (of course lol) and together with their friends they find their own directions in life!

[Drama News] The Hypnotist 被催眠的催眠师 is Coming in April

Web drama The Hypnotist (被催眠的催眠师) will be premiering on Sohu TV on April 13th. The story takes place in the turbulent era of the early 1900’s. Hypnotist Kong Mu (Yang Le who was in Back In Time) along with hot blooded female police officer Song Yi (Zhu Yan Man Zi) encounter a series of mysterious deaths, such as the the commander’s strange suicide, and many other bizarre unexplainable cases. They use hypnosis as a way to uncover the truth in this suspenseful drama.

This looks and sounds pretty interesting to me, so I’ll probably be checking it out! If it’s good, I might even recap it lol. A trailer and more pictures are below the cut. Take a look to see if this drama suits your tastes!

[Drama News] Yang Yang Looking Handsome on the Set of Martial Universe 武动乾坤

Martial Universe (武动乾坤) stars Yang Yang, Wang Likun, Crystal Zhang Tian Ai, and Wu Chun continues to film for the xianxia drama and had a media event yesterday where they accepted press interviews. Yang Yang talked about how he continues to learn through the process of acting and he believes his character this time will be refreshing to the audience as it’s different from the cold and aloof roles he’s had in the past. As for Crystal, she said her character yells a lot, so her throat has been hurting. And another interesting tidbit is that Wu Chun has been nicknamed 厨神 “master chef” by Yang Yang because whenever Wu Chun is on the set, they always have good food to eat (lol). It sounds like the cast is getting along well!

[Drama News] Fan Bing Bing’s Win the World 赢天下 Releases Character Posters

Fan Bing Bing’s historical drama Win the World (赢天下) finally released individual character posters of the sprawling cast! Following the success of 2014’s The Empress of China, the anticipation is high for Fan Bing Bing’s return to the small screen.

The drama chronicles the story of a legendary woman in the Qin dynasty, known as “Widow Ba Qing” played by Fan Bing Bing. She is the first female entrepreneur in the history of China. Qin Shi Huang referred to her as his “elder sister” and gave her the honorary title of “Lady of Virtue”. It is uncertain how big Ba Qing’s fortune was, but it is believed that she was extremely wealthy and even contributed money towards the construction of the Great Wall. Historians also speculate that she might have had a strong army of several thousand men, to which Qin Shi Huang actually permitted and didn’t punish her for…

I don’t know how accurate that “historical” information is (lol), but I do know that Fan Bing Bing will be playing a powerful woman once again. And I’ll definitely be tuning in when it airs (most likely in 2018)!

Premiering in April on Zhejiang TV with 44 episodes is Crossing the Ocean to See You (漂洋过海来看你) a modern day romantic comedy starring Zhu Ya Wen and Wang Li Kun. A bunch of stills have been released. And just yesterday, they dropped the official music video for the drama’s theme song performed by the two leads!
